“Something that hits you immediately when you hear them play is what makes their collective writing style so different in concept and interpretation: that rare quality that each is the other's biggest fan and this mutual synergy is what makes their music so unforgettably original.”
— The JazzBites Show
As graduates of the world famous Berklee College of Music, guitarist Julian Harris and vocalist Julia Camayd form the heart and soul of the uber-talented group, Soulpax. One song alone is sure to convince the listener that Harris and Camayd have written and produced some of the freshest, high-energy sounds coming out of the modern R&B movement today.
Under the instruction of teachers like Livingston Taylor, Paula Gallitano, Bonnie Hayes, and many more, Camayd developed a well-rounded musicality. Camayd’s poetic sensibilities and fiery Joplin-like deliveries bring audiences to their feet. Harris's unmatched guitar virtuosity, grounded in the Blues styles of T- Bone Walker, Otis Rush, Jimmy Dawkins and Duane Allman, produces a Hendrix-like fire that captivates audiences no matter the venue.
Harris and Camayd arrange out-of-state tours, radio interviews, and write songs together that speak to the human heart by lyricising musical ideas in unique ways. Soulpax has opened for greats like Robert Randolph & the Family Band, Kat Wright & the Indomitable Soul Band, and the Marshall Tucker Band. Today, Harris and Camayd, along with their super-talented line-up of supporting musicians, take the fresh and innovative sounds of Soulpax across the United States, Europe, and beyond.
“Music on this level is hard to come by. Whether it’s funky up tempo covers or introspective originals, these two have a vocal/guitar lock that is hard to go unnoticed. Great musicians have the ability to play a number of different styles. Julian is one of those musicians. The added vocals of Julia and this group Soulpax adds yet another side to his musicianship. It’s refreshing to hear original music that successfully captures the positive characteristics of music and Soulpax makes listening easy and enjoyable on this recording.”

“A fresh and raw sound with roots in classic blues and soul, this band creates an extremely tasty hybrid of original music that's coupled with a reverence to their peers of times past. Soulpax definitely makes an audience sit up and take notice.”
